EVGrid works with Largest EV School Bus Project in nation that will use vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology

Sacremento, CA –

From the
NSI press release:

The
Commissioners of the California Energy Commission
approved a grant today (7/22/14) to National Strategies, LLC (NSI) for $1.4M today for an
all electric school bus demonstration program in California, the
largest EV school bus demonstration in the nation and the first to
deploy Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology.

EVGrid was happy to attend the California Energy Comission’s business meeting in Sacramento to watch the vote go through live with Kevin Matthews and Stephen

Crolius. We have an technology and policy advisory role in the project, and are excited to see this important project moving forward.

Electric buses are a great way to realize the advantages of
electric and V2G technologies through decreased maintenance costs, improved efficiency, electric grid support and of course zero emissions.

We’ll post more here as the project progresses.
